If you’re looking to spend a fun day at the beach, having the right equipment can really make or break your experience. Nothing is worse than needing an umbrella and not having one, or bringing old ratty towels that keep you a bit too sandy all day.
But the toughest equipment miss on what should be a great day by the ocean is having an uncomfortable beach chair.
The right beach chair should be supportive, comfortable, sturdy, and give you somewhere to keep your drink free from sand!
There are tons of options out there on the market, so we decided to dig in and sort out which was the ultimate winner for a great day in the sun.
KingCamp Beach Chair:
The KingCamp Beach Chair is the top option of everything we looked at. It comes in a variety of a fun colors, and folds into a sleek carry bag that transports easily. The chair pops into place within seconds of arriving, and it has incredible support for your back. We were able to really lounge in the KingCamp, and without the offputting acrylic feel that some similar beach chairs had.
It has a sturdy and well-positioned cup holder, and it creates an optimal angle for your spine so you can keep your feet buried in the sand without losing an ounce of comfort.
It lacks some of the bells and whistles of other chairs like a built-in cooler, but our philosophy is that you can always add a cooler, but you can’t add more lumbar support or a better feel.
If you’re looking for the ultimate beach chair for your next trip out, each chair retails on Amazon for $59.99 with Prime shipping!
ALPHA CAMP Backpack Beach Chairs:
The ALPHA CAMP Backpack Beach Chairs are a more traditional style of beach chair, and they have extremely cool patterns and colors. They also have a built-in cooler bag so you can store your drinks individually if your beach crew has a harder time sharing.
The chair itself is a bit more firm, with an attached pillow that is very comfortable at the right angle.
The plastic armrests felt very slightly off-putting, but overall the chair is sturdy and converts into a mini backpack for carrying making it very versatile.
A set of two chairs on Amazon retails for $159.99 and also includes Prime shipping as well!
Homevative Folding Backpack Beach Chair:
The Homevative Folding Backpack Beach Chair is a bigger, more engineered version of the Alpha Camp, but with less color and design options. It also features a cup holder and cooler bag, and the chair itself is fairly comfortable.
It’s heftier and feels a bit heavy when carrying it, but it’s sturdy and it gets the job done.
If you’re looking to upgrade, it’s $134.99 for two chairs, but unfortunately does not include Prime shipping, so that could be an added cost.
