Hairloss can be a difficult challenge to navigate. At times it can seem hopeless and inevitable. Like something you have no ability to fight back against.
For some guys, shaving it all off is the simple solution. But for others, the world of hair loss treatment options gets way too confusing. The internet is full of “natural remedies”, empty promises, and some potentially dangerous “treatments” that can cause all sorts of unintended problems.
Similar to serious skincare issues, the best solution is to talk to a doctor. There are FDA approved medications and topical solutions that are clinically proven to help, especially when you get the right personalized combination.
Over the last few years there have been a wave of new online services all with their own take on the digital doctor/patient relationship. Some of them offer hair loss specific treatments featuring the same medications you’d get from your in person doctor’s office, but without the hassle of the waiting room and the pharmacy. We wanted to put them to the test and see which service was the most reliable service with the best experience.
This is what we found.
Roman:
Through all of our research, Roman was the clear top choice. From their medical advisors to their packaging, Roman inspires confidence from start to finish. They offer free two-day shipping, and transparent pricing. Depending on your treatment, it will cost anywhere from $16 to $35 per month, and they even provide a free online consultation with your dedicated doctor to figure out which plan is right for you.
The process is smooth and seamless. Just head over to Roman’s website, complete their online visit, and you’ll hear from the doctor very quickly. (Often within a few hours, but up to a few days if you’re browsing on the weekends).
You’ll use Roman’s secure messaging service to work with your doctor and confirm your treatment plan. Then, if the doctor decides medication would be right, they’ll ship it directly to your door with free 2-day shipping.
The packaging is really sleek, and we were impressed with the quality of the service from start to finish. If you ever have any questions or concerns about your treatment, you just hop back into their portal and you can chat with your doctor, or a nurse on staff, whenever you need to.
If you’re looking to tackle hair loss, Roman is the place to start.
Keeps:
Keeps is well known for offering a similar hair loss treatment service. They have a similar offering of three core treatment types and access to healthcare professionals online so you can skip the waiting room and get the treatment you need, delivered directly to your door.
Unlike Roman which offers treatment on a two-month recurring basis, Keeps will send you three months’ supply in a given shipment. The full price works out to between $10 and $35 a month depending on which treatment is right for you.
Keeps charges $3 for shipping, which is quite affordable, but unfortunately still does add to the total cost here.
Overall, Keeps is a solid option that’s reliable and good for someone looking to get started treating hair loss.
Hims:
Hims rounds out our top options for digital hair loss treatment, and it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for sleek packaging and solid service.
Hims offers the same core FDA-approved medications as Roman and Keeps, but they also sell additional stuff like vitamins and hair thickening shampoo.
We should stress that only the medications are FDA approved to actually halt and even reverse hair loss, but some people want the complete branded package, and Hims offers that for anyone interested.
Overall Hims has a similar service otherwise, and prices vary depending on which package you want to go for. The medications are roughly in line with Keep and Roman, but the vitamins and shampoos can add to the bottom line if you’re interested!
